Skin Ritual — Refund & Returns Policy
Last Updated: 26 August 2026
We want you to have a positive experience with Skin Ritual. This Refund & Returns Policy explains how returns, refunds and product issues are handled.
Nothing in this policy limits any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.
1. Change-of-Mind Returns
Because skincare products are applied directly to the skin, we take hygiene and product safety seriously.
Where a product is eligible for return, it should generally be:
-
Unused.
-
Unopened.
-
In its original packaging.
-
In a resalable condition.
However, statutory consumer rights may apply regardless of our standard returns requirements.
2. ECTA Cooling-Off Rights
For applicable electronic transactions, Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act provides a seven-day cooling-off period for certain purchases of goods, calculated from receipt of the goods.
The consumer may cancel without reason and without penalty, with the direct cost of returning the goods being the only charge permitted under that provision. Where applicable, refunds must be made within 30 days of cancellation.
Certain transactions are excluded from this cooling-off right under the Act, including goods that by their nature cannot be returned or goods likely to deteriorate or expire rapidly.
3. Damaged Products
If your product arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible.
Please provide:
-
Your order number.
-
Photographs of the damaged product.
-
Photographs of the packaging.
-
A description of the issue.
We will assess the issue and provide an appropriate remedy where applicable.
4. Incorrect Products
If you receive an incorrect product, contact us before using it.
We will arrange an appropriate solution, which may include replacement or refund where applicable.
5. Defective Products
If a product is defective or does not meet applicable quality or performance requirements, please contact us.
Consumer rights relating to defective goods may apply under South African consumer-protection law. The CPA provides consumer remedies for goods that fail to meet required standards, including circumstances where goods are defective or unsafe.
6. Refunds
Where a refund is approved, the refund will generally be made using the original payment method where reasonably possible.
The time it takes for funds to reflect in your account may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
7. Promotional Items
If an item was purchased as part of a promotion, bundle or special offer, additional terms may apply.
Any applicable promotional conditions will be communicated at the time of purchase.
8. How to Request a Return or Refund
Contact us at:

9. Non-Exclusion of Legal Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive a consumer's rights under applicable South African law.
Where this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal consumer right, the applicable law will prevail.
Skin Ritual reserves the right to assess returns and refund requests in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of each case.
